ALLIANCE OF CIVILIZATIONS SECOND ANNUAL FORUMAPRIL 6-7, 2009, ISTANBUL

It was previously announced that members of the media who applied to cover the Alliance of Civilizations Second Annual Forum at Istanbul’s Çırağan Palace should collect their accreditation cards from the Directorate General of Press and Information Istanbul Office on April 2-3 or from the press desk at the Çırağan Kempinski Hotel on April 5-6.

But under a new arrangement, the Accreditation Cards will be photo IDs, and they will be collected from the Press Accreditation Center to be set up in the garden of the Palace on April 4-7. Applicants who applied previously will be able to get their cards when they come to the center soon after having their photos taken.

The Press Accreditation Center will operate on:

April 4-5 : 8 am -7 pm

April 6 : 7 am - 7 pm

April 7 : 8 am - 1 pm

In order to prevent any delays on the day of forum, accreditation cards should be collected as early as possible.

Press Center

A Press Center equipped with all means of communications will be set up at the seaside in the palace garden on April 5-7.

The Press Center will operate on:

April 5 : 10 am- 9 pm

April 6 : 8 am - 9 pm

April 7 : 8 am - 7 pm

Press Movements

- The forum sessions open to the media, including the inauguration, will be aired live only by TRT. These videos will be made available free of charge and logo-free for the usage of other media organizations through frequencies and web addresses to be announced later.

- Live broadcasting will be on a wide screen at the Press Center, with simultaneous translation in four languages (Turkish, English, French and Arabic).

- Only camera operators and photographers will be allowed to cover the inauguration session and group photo. Towards that aim, one pool card will be given to each company, and two for each agency providing video service.

- For photo opportunities at possible bilateral meetings, dinners and breakfasts during the forum, pool practice will be implemented, and these videos will be made available free of charge by the Anatolia News Agency.

- All members of the media will be able to cover the closing press conference.
