Acargo jetbelongingto theIranian YASAir,bound for Syria,was grantedover flightpermissionon22 March 2011 by Turkeyonthe conditionthat it landin Diyarbakir Airport. This isa common practice forover flightpermission requests.

During the routine check in accordance with theover flightpermissionprocedure,Turkish authorities found and confiscateda batch ofmaterialbannedunder the relevant UN sanctions.

TheIranian cargo jet has been permitted to return to Iran without the bannedmaterialthe same day.
