Turkey has always been at the forefront of the efforts to strip the illegitimate regime in Syria of its power to suppress the Syrian people. We fully cooperate with friends of Syrian people to cripple regime's ability to continue the war that it has waged against its own people.

The U.S. Department of Treasury has informed Turkey in advance about its latest decision to take action against certain private companies and individuals that are considered to be responsible for providing energy products used by the Assad regime.

The Turkish authorities took into account the information provided by the US and started necessary inquiries which are still underway. In accordance with the customs procedures, due action has been taken and all relevant measures have been put in place immediately with regard to the companies and individuals in question.

Turkey will continue to stand in full solidarity with the Syrian people.
